Armenia Prepares to Reopen Transport Links With Azerbaijan
On August 22, David Khudatyan, the Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, stated that Armenia is actively preparing to reopen transport links with Azerbaijan in line with the Washington Declaration signed on August 8. The Minister emphasized that Armenia is not only interested but also ready to establish economic cooperation with both Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
"Regarding economic cooperation between Türkiye, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, Armenia is ready and interested. We are actively preparing to begin implementing this program (TRIPP – ‘Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity’) and to reopen transport links with Azerbaijan in line with the declaration adopted on August 8 in Washington and signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of the United States," he stated.
Khudatyan also highlighted Armenia's readiness to reopen the Gyumri-Kars railway connection with Türkiye. "We have publicly stated this and believe that reopening the railway will further strengthen regional connectivity," he added.
