On April 23, Zhanna Andreasyan, Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, stated that a decision regarding the participation of Armenian athletes in the III CIS Games would be made in the near future.

In a conversation with journalists, Andreasyan explained that the decision would depend on various factors, including security measures. She emphasized the importance of making decisions based on comprehensive information.

Notably, Azerbaijan has officially invited Armenia to participate in the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games, scheduled to take place from September 28 to October 8, 2025, in Ganja and other cities across Azerbaijan. The invitation was extended by the organizing committee, with Aygul Aghayeva, Head of Security and Operations at the Baku City Circuit Operations Company, confirming that Armenia has been invited, but its participation has not yet been confirmed.
