On a visit to Armenia, US Under Secretary of State Uzra Zeya was received by Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan, as reported by the PM's press office. During their meeting, Pashinyan highlighted the critical role of continuous development in Armenia-US multi-sectoral cooperation. He expressed appreciation for the US’s unwavering support in advancing democratic reforms in Armenia, particularly in areas such as justice, anti-corruption measures, effective administration, public services, and policing. Pashinyan underscored that the development of democracy is strategically important for the Armenian government.

Under Secretary of State Uzra Zeya affirmed the US administration’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Armenia. She assured that the US would continue providing technical and financial support to foster democratic institutions in Armenia. Zeya acknowledged the significant strides Armenia has made in recent years towards democracy and highlighted the importance of programs focused on human rights, freedom of speech, justice, and anti-corruption efforts.

Additionally, the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was a key topic of discussion. Under Secretary Zeya affirmed that the United States remains dedicated to "supporting the establishment of lasting peace between the two countries and ensuring regional security and stability."

According to the statement of the PM's press-office, humanitarian issues were also addressed, particularly those concerning the fate of ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh. Pashinyan and Zeya discussed the Armenian government’s measures to address these challenges and stressed the importance of ongoing international support.
