Azerbaijan Halts Visa Issuance to Iranian Citizens at Airports, Implements New Visa Process
Aykhan Hajizada, the head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, said that from June 23, Azerbaijan will stop issuing visas to Iranian citizens at Azerbaijan's international airports.
He noted that Iranian citizens visiting Azerbaijan should get an "ASAN visa" in advance or obtain a visa from the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Tabriz.
As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, on June 5, Nasser Kanaani, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said that the people of Azerbaijan should be afraid of the "Zionist regime" (Israel) and not the civilized Muslim people of Iran.
