
Azerbaijani Citizens Detained in Chechnya Return Home Following Negotiations

On September 24, Azerbaijani citizens detained in Chechnya were returned to Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan noted that upon receiving information about Tafdig oghlu's detention, a formal note was immediately sent to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Negotiations were conducted with both the Russian Ministry and other relevant institutions to secure their return. As a result of these efforts, the detained citizens were returned to Azerbaijan on September 21, crossing the state border by land from Russia.
Earlier, Tapdig Rzayev, the father of one of the detainees and a resident of Alibeyli village in the Tovuz region, informed that the detained individuals were Azerbaijani citizens who had been held in Chechnya since late August, allegedly to be sent by Russia to fight in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
