British support for mine clearing in Nagorno-Karabakh
The United Kingdom has allocated half a million pounds to support demining programs in and around Nagorno-Karabakh after the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.
The statement came from the British Foreign Office. "Britain has pledged £ 500,000 to help rebuild and clear the area with the world's highest pollution of landmines."
According to the report, the funds allocated to the United Nations Development Program will be used to support demining organizations in Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The United Kingdom calls on both Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign the Ottawa Treaty, which aims to eliminate the use of mines around the world.
