Dagestan Operation Foils Terrorist Plot, Three Detained

On March 31, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) announced that a successful counter-terrorist operation led to the apprehension of three individuals planning terrorist activities in Dagestan.
"Under the direction of the NAC operational headquarters, security forces conducted a comprehensive operation in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk, resulting in the capture of three criminals intending to carry out terrorist acts," the NAC disclosed.
Upon inspection of the detainees' location, law enforcement discovered a cache containing automatic firearms, ammunition, and an assembled explosive device.
The imposition of the Counter-Terrorist Operation (CTO) regime in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk on March 31 prompted the strategic securing of key sites in these cities, accompanied by the evacuation of residents.
Subsequently, the NAC announced the cessation of the CTO regime in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk, effective at noon [local time].
