Delimitation Talks Progress as Armenia and Azerbaijan Focus on Northern Border
On January 16, the 11th meeting of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Commission on Delimitation and Border Security was held at the border under the chairmanship of Mher Grigoryan, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, and Shahin Mustafayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the sequencing of borderline sections for delimitation and agreed to begin the process from the northern section, starting at the intersection of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, proceeding southward to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with Iran.
They also discussed drafts of guidelines for delimitation procedures and agreed to determine the date and location of the next meeting through working-level consultations.
