Eurasian Development Bank Forecasts Growth of Armenian Economy by 7.5%

In a new review published on June 1, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) presented a forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until the end of this year, as well as for 2024-2025.
EDB analysts forecasted the growth of the Armenian economy by 7.5% this year due to strong domestic demand and an increase in mutual trade, and inflation in Armenia - at the level of 2.5%. In most EAEU countries and Tajikistan, inflation will approach the target values in 2024-2025, while the aggregate indicator for the region in 2023 will be up to 6.4% instead of 12.4% in 2022.
In the previous March EDB forecast, Armenia's GDP growth was predicted at 4.2%, and the inflation rate by the end of the year - 4.6%. According to the bank's forecast, the highest GDP growth rate in the Eurasian space at the end of the current year will be recorded by Tajikistan (not a member of the EAEU) - 7.9%.
