On September 13, Tbilisi and Beijing signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the development of the Middle Corridor, as the Georgian Ministry of Economy reported. The document was signed by Levan Davitashvili, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Georgia, during his visit to China, along with Chao Chengxin, the head of China’s National Development and Reform Commission.

"This memorandum gives us an opportunity to establish closer trade and economic ties with China, attract additional investments, and increase exports of Georgian products to China," Davitashvili stated.

According to the agreement, both parties committed to working together to attract additional cargo, optimize routes, develop infrastructure, enhance transport services, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as customs, transport security, and digitalization.
