
Greece's Gas Imports from Azerbaijan Increase by 7%

Greece imported 1.020 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan from January to June 2023. The southern European country's imports of Caspian gas in June amounted to 174.6 million cubic meters compared to 163 million cubic meters in May, showing an increase of 7.1 percent month-on-month.
Greece's total spending on natural gas purchases from Azerbaijan amounted to €523.8 million in the first six months of 2023. More than €58 million was spent in June, compared to €68.8 million in May (down 15.7 percent).
Azerbaijan produced 24.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January-June 2023. During this period, the volume of gas sales from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea amounted to 12 billion cubic meters, which is 7.5% more compared to the same period last year.
In January-June, about 5 billion cubic meters of gas was exported to Turkey, 5.7 billion cubic meters to Europe, and 1.3 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Over 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas was exported to Turkey through the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) during the mentioned period.
