The Azerbaijani state news agency Azertag has reported that urgent works are being carried out “to solve the problems discussed at the meeting with the representatives of the Armenian residents living in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan held in the city of Yevlakh on September 21.”

According to the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, the next step was to disconnect the city of Khankendi (Stepanakert in Armenian) from the Armenian power grid and connect it to the Azerbaijani power grid. Reserve slots for Khankendi were installed in the "Shusha" substation, which was built by "Azerenergy" in 2021. From September 19, 2023, "Azerenergy" will start the installation of additional 110 kV high-voltage power poles near the "Shusha" substation and their connection to the Khankendi transmission line. As a result of the work, the process has already been completed. At the same time, the employees of "Azerenergy" and "Azerishig" inspected the transmission and distribution network and protection systems, and then the transmission lines were supplied with electricity. From now on Azerbaijan will supply electricity to Khankendi.
