On March 5, Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, stated that the Baltic countries do not recognize Georgia's sovereign policy and are demanding that the country take a clear stance against Russia.

Papuashvili criticized the sanctions imposed by Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania on Georgian officials, calling them "unfounded" and intended to pressure the Georgian government. He emphasized that Georgia's contributions to NATO and international security far exceed those of the Baltic countries, despite which Tbilisi faces unwarranted criticism.

"True friendship is unrequited, but the Baltic countries demonstrate conditional friendship," Papuashvili noted. He further added that some Western countries use the democracy issue as a pretext to exert pressure on Georgia rather than supporting its stability and peace policy.
