On June 9, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova revealed that the Russian Foreign Ministry had lodged a note of protest with its Armenian counterparts following the visit of an Armenian delegation to the Ukrainian town of Bucha.

Moscow perceives the visit of Armenian representatives to Bucha, as well as their provision of humanitarian aid to Kyiv and their statements against Russia, as an unfriendly gesture. Zakharova stated, "We regard the visit to Bucha by the heads of the capital's Nor-Nork administrative district Tigran Ter-Margarian and the Armenian diplomatic mission (in Ukraine) Vladimir Karapetyan as a frankly unfriendly step on the part of official Yerevan. We are concerned about their aid transfer to the AFU and the inadmissible statements against Russia. We have sent a note of protest to the Armenian Foreign Ministry."

Zakharova noted that Ter-Margarian is an associate of the chairman of the pro-Western Republic party, Aram Sargsyan. She expressed regret that Armenian authorities are aligning themselves with such statements.
