Russian Minister of Culture Pledges Linguistic Support to Separatist Abkhazia

On February 13, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova announced that Russia could assist in the development and preservation of the Abkhazian language through existing Russian linguistic centers. Her remarks came during a meeting with cultural representatives from separatist Abkhazia.
Lyubimova emphasized that effective cooperation would require specific proposals from the Abkhazian side. "Our linguistic centers are ready to help. We have both the resources and technical capabilities. We just need to determine the format—whether it be educational programs or exhibitions," she stated.
The meeting covered a broad range of cultural collaboration issues between Russia and Abkhazia. A roadmap for future initiatives was outlined, including joint cultural events and programs aimed at strengthening cultural ties and fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and Abkhazia.
