Following its session on August 31, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign the "Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union on the Status of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA)."

"The deployment of the EU civilian mission in Armenia is aimed at establishing stability and peace in the region. The Armenian side highly appreciates both this and all initiatives aimed at deepening security cooperation with the European Union," the justification to the draft agreement reads.

Guided by the provisions of Article 7 of the Law on International Treaties, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs deemed it appropriate to sign the "Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union on the Status of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA)."

"This is in line with the foreign policy pursued by the Republic of Armenia and its international commitments," the Cabinet of Ministers pointed out.
