
Armenia and Italy Discuss Peace and EU Mission's Role in Border Stability

On December 10, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Italian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Alfonso Di Rizzo, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, Khachaturyan praised Di Rizzo's contributions to strengthening Armenian-Italian relations and fostering friendship between the two nations. "I thank you for your diplomatic activity. During the three years of your work, you have managed to give a new breath to the Armenian-Italian relations. It is about both bilateral relations and cooperation between Armenia and the EU," the President stated.
In response, Di Rizzo expressed gratitude for the reception and warm attitude.
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Armenia and Italy, with both sides highlighting the successful collaboration on bilateral and international platforms. The regional situation and developments in the South Caucasus were also addressed.
President Khachaturyan emphasized Armenia’s commitment to fostering good-neighborly relations and ensuring stable regional peace. The two sides exchanged views on the role of the EU Civilian Observation Mission in reducing tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
