
Armenia Awaits Start of EU Visa Liberalization Discussions

During the 11th session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, as reported by Armenian media on March 21, Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic, stated that Armenia is eagerly anticipating the commencement of negotiations with the European Union regarding visa liberalization.
Simonyan emphasized that the relaxation of visa requirements will enhance interpersonal connections and serve as a significant indicator of EU support for Armenia. He expressed his belief that this development would mark a new phase of progress, contributing to both strengthened ties between individuals and an important political gesture of solidarity with the Armenian people.
Furthermore, the parliament speaker underscored Armenia's aspiration to integrate into a community that upholds EU values. He highlighted Yerevan's commitment to addressing security concerns and enhancing the country's defense capabilities through diversification.
Simonyan expressed gratitude to the EU for dispatching a civilian mission to Armenia, acknowledging its positive impact on bolstering security in border regions adjacent to Azerbaijan.
