Azerbaijani and Armenian Officials Highlight Key Disagreements in Peace Talks
On February 21, Ziyafat Asgarov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament, stated that 15 out of 17 points in the peace agreement with Armenia have been agreed upon, with two key issues remaining unresolved.
Asgarov identified the first unresolved issue as the opening of the Zangezur corridor and the second as proposed changes to the Armenian Constitution. He also reiterated Azerbaijan's demand for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, though he noted that this matter is not part of the peace treaty negotiations.
On February 22, Ruben Rubinyan, Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, responded to Asgarov’s remarks, confirming that the two remaining points of contention involve the deployment of third-party forces along the border and mutual legal complaints filed by both countries in international forums. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements aligned with this position, a view also acknowledged by official Baku, according to the Armenian service of Radio Liberty.
